1. Use a readable and professional font. According to The Huffington Post, Garamond, Arial and Calibri fonts are perfect professional choices.
2. Make sure your resume is brief and easy to read.
3. Start with a strong summary statement about your career. For example, “–Business professional with over ten years of experience as an XYZ. My expertise extends to a, b and c.”
4. List no more than ten years of experience.
5. Quantify your career results. Never embellish. For example, “I increased the sales of XYZ by XX%.”
6. Avoid dense paragraphs. Bullet points are easily read.
